  How can I start a marketplace using MarketGear?
Begin by purchasing the MarketGear service. Select the server plan that you want and specify your domain. If you do not own a domain name, try using our domain service. Second, send in your logo artwork, if you do not have a logo available, use our logo design service. After your logo is ready your server will be set up and your marketplace will be online within 3-5 business days.
  Do I need to find a hosting provider in order to use MarketGear?
No, dedicated hosting is included with MarketGear. You just need to choose your server plan when you purchase MarketGear. Once a plan is selected, a server will be set up for your marketplace.
 

What type of support do I get with MarketGear?
With MarketGear, we provide full support for the web site and all users of the site. Support includes technical (we make sure your site is up and running at all times), operational (we make sure that users are able to access your site easily and that the server is not overloaded) and member support (we answer all your members questions regarding the marketplace and how to use the market).

  What are the technical requirements needed to purchase MarketGear?
There is no technical requirements to use MarketGear. MarketGear is a SaaS Application (Software As A Service). Each marketplace is set up on dedicated servers that are managed by us. Additional servers can be added to your marketplace as your business grows. MarketGear removes the technical complexities and reduces the start up time for starting an online marketplace.
  If members of my market need technical or market support, who provides it?
We support all your members regardless of whether you have 1000 members or 100,000 members. Support includes 24/7 email support. Responses from members should be answered within 1-2 business days. There will also be phone support for your marketplace in the near future.

  Which server plan should I buy for my marketplace?
There are 2 server plans for MarketGear, gold and silver. The silver plan is our entry level server and will provides moderate bandwidth and processing for new marketplaces. The gold plan is our advanced level server and provides higher bandwidth and processing power. If you anticipate bandwidth or load for your marketplace to be above either server plans, you can purchase multiple servers of either plan. We can set-up your servers so that the load will be spread across all servers for your web site.
 

How do I add more servers to my marketplace?
Contact your sales representative or account executive to set up additional servers for your marketplace.
 

What is a general market in MarketGear?
A General Market is a market that contains ads from all markets running on the MarketGear2.0 platform. A General Market is automatically available whenever a new market is created.

  What are the advantages of having a general market?
The advantages of having a general market for each marketplace is that content is available for your web site on the first day your market is live, market owners will have an instant market presence when starting their online marketplace.
  What is a private market in MarketGear?
A Private Market is the marketplace configured by your members. Depending on how a user's private market is configured, it can be a marketplace of just their friends, or a marketplace that is made up of members only from your web site.
  What are the advantages of having a private market?
The advantages of a private market is localization, a private market can be created for a specific city, organization or person, e.g. CIty of San Francisco; National Organization Of Antique Collectors, Friends and Family Of Drew
  How does social networking work?
Social networking allows your members to create a friends network. Your members can then choose to buy, sell and trade only with friends who are in their network.
  How can members trade only with their friends in their network?
Members can set their preference to trade with friends. Once the preference is set, ads that are displayed in their private market will only be that of their friends.
  How secure are the servers that I am leasing through MarketGear?
All dedicated server are protected by hardware firewall. All passwords & transactions are encrypted using 256 bit DigiCert SSL Certificates. Servers are bi-annually checked for vulnerabilities, and McAfee anti-virus software is activated for every server.

  Can I change the look of my web site?
All home pages can be custom designed with our web design service. You can request a specific design that coordinates with your business or logo.

  Can I request a new feature for my web site?
Yes, we can create a custom market application or add new features specifically for your business. Contact sales to get more info regarding our software customization service.
